The prolific actress of Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films Manorama – Guinness record holder for acting in over 1200 films passed away due to heart attack at the age of 78 years.

Manorama the most famous actress acted in Ninagaagi Naanu, Devara Duddu, Geddavalu naane, Devara Gudi, Premanubandha and Preethiya Nanna Daiva Kannada films in her career.

Receipient of Kalaimamani award from Tamil Nadu government, Manorama got Padmasri in 2002, she is also playback singer of nearly 300 songs. In the bigwig films of Anna Durai, MGR, Karunanidhi, Shivaji Ganeshan, Jayalalithaa, NTR, Rajanikanth, Kamal Haasan,  the presence of Manorama was felt very much. She had won the best supporting actress award in national level for Pudhiya Padhai in 1989.
